Social Connections Intramural Sports & Games Club

** IMPORTANT** Must be able to stay calm enough to allow an adult help them process if frustrated and keep hands/feet calm when upset for this group activity

Who: Neurodiverse* kids grades 4-8 (may be some flexibility)

*LNN uses the term neurodiverse to describe individuals who are on par with peers intellectually/academically, but struggle with social communication, executive function, and/or self-regulation. This may include a self-identification or diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Aspergers, ADHD, anxiety, OCD or similarly wired individuals.

What: Build social connections while playing intramural sports and games intended to allow kids to play at their skill level, and find joy in playing games outdoors. Additionally, physical activity, especially outdoors, is so good for mental health. Different sport/game each week to include:

• kickball
• soccer
• badminton
• volleyball
• ultimate frisbee
• basketball or flag football (no tackle)
